Anne Heche’s tragic car accident prompts a response from Ellen
The horrifying vehicle accident that left Anne Heche with serious burns and in a coma has now prompted a response from Ellen DeGeneres, 64. The former talk show host, who dated the actress from 1997 to 2000, replied to inquiries on Monday, August 8, when she was out with a friend in Santa Barbara, California. Ellen gave a quick response when asked how her ex-girlfriend was doing. According to the Daily Mail, she said, “We are not in contact with each other, so I would not know.” I do not want for anybody to suffer harm. Ellen’s remark about Anne came after the Men in Trees actress made news for crashing her blue Mini Cooper in the Mar Vista neighbourhood of Los Angeles, California, first into an apartment building and then into a home, causing the latter to catch fire and her car burn as well. She apparently spent around 30 minutes inside the vehicle before firemen were able to free her and transport her to the hospital, where she was found to have significant burns all over her body.
After learning the dreadful news, several of Anne’s other ex-boyfriends, like Ellen, also made public statements. These included Thomas Jane and James Tupper, who she dated in 2019 and 2006, respectively. James posted a picture of Anne and their 13-year-old son Atlas on Instagram along with a comment. We adore you, Anneheche. Thoughts and prayers for this beautiful lady, actress, and mother tonight.
Thomas discussed the event with Daily Mail and provided an update on Anne’s health as well. In addition to expressing his “thoughts and prayers,” he described her as “one of the genuine geniuses of her time.” He also said that she is “expected to pull through,” but that she is still being intubated in the ICU because of her burns.
Although the exact reason for Anne’s accident is still unknown, it is speculated that she may have been intoxicated given that a bottle of what seemed to be alcohol was seen next to her in her car in a picture taken before either incident. Shortly after word of the incident spread online, a spokeswoman for her said she was in “stable condition.” Currently stable, Anne, according to her representative’s statement to People magazine on August 6. “During this difficult time, her family and friends ask for your thoughts, prayers, and respect for her privacy.”
