McLaren will push into fashion by selling $450 sneakers.
On its first footwear release, the carmaker collaborated with the shoe brand Athletic Propulsion Labs.
Running sneakers from the limited-edition HySpeed series come in five colours and are imbued
with aerodynamics and seats from McLaren supercars, as well as a carbon fibre plate and nitrogen-infused
cushioning, The product, according to executives, was created from scratch and has been in development for two years.
The range, which has a $450 price tag, will be offered at APL's Los Angeles store as well as via Net-A-Porter,
Luisa Via Roma in Italy, Pedder Group in Hong Kong, and Level Shoes in the United Arab Emirates.
The HySpeed is McLaren's most recent attempt to sell apparel and accessories that promote the supercar company.
The business formerly collaborated with fashion lines with designer brands including Rhude and Belstaff,
and it also distributes eyeglasses under the SunGod sustainable brand.
